Oil Pulling for Liver Detox and Health

A “for real” Oklahoma medicine man!

There is something about home remedies that we all love. Truth be told, a lot of modern science came from “folk medicine”. Today’s aspirin is simply a chemist’s version of the bark on a Willow Tree. We’ve all tried them or had them tried on us, but oil pulling has become pretty commercial in the last few years. It’s an old practice that has been repopularized recently. Yeah, I’ve been researching Oil Pulling for Liver Detox and Health.

I found out there is a modern version that was popularized by Dr. Fedor Karach,

Oil Pulling and Your Health

The Liver – Of course you know I am all about the liver safety. I have found nothing in the practice of oil pulling that can harm your liver. As far as detox benefits go, welp, I was unable to find medical evidence that there is any. It simply relates to reflexology, ayurvedic medicine, and also the tongue/organ correlation. There is a Native American lady near Tulsa who can look at your tongue and tell you what’s wrong with you. She’s been in practice for years, and many people line up and stick their tongue out for her right at the health food store.

The Oil It goes without saying that you’ll be wanting a food grade oil. While toasted sesame has a nice nutty flavor, many practitioners use coconut, olive, or sunflower oil. I love the taste of coconut oil. Read my blog about the benefits here. The antibacterial effects of Lauric Acid in this oil shows protection against strains of bacteria that causes streph and candida.

Does oil pulling have real benefits? I read the claims about white teeth, healthier gums, psoriasis clear up, arthritis pain reduced, and so many other great stories on the net. They’re hard to ignore even without medical research backing them up.

The Ritual

Look at these buckers!

I believe it’s the oil combined with the method. Having a morning ritual is a wonderful thing. If you sit quietly with your face turned up toward the warmth of the sun while swishing or holding coconut oil in your mouth, you will get many benefits:

You will have a super clean mouth.

Your gums will be strengthened and cleansed with increased blood flow for healing. This is especially true if you choose to pull the oil between your teeth in a swishing motion.

You will have good dental health. (that benefits your whole body)

You will have a quiet mind that is set with a good intention of caring for your body, mind, and spirit for the entire day.

I’ve swished and pulled for a week now. I set my mind by sending prayers for all of us while I’m tasting the sweet coconut oil. Regular use of oil pulling can possibly replace my Oral B swisher. It may become part of my morning routine in the New Year.  Much love, xoxo Karen

  1. Hello there sweetheart! How are you doing? I just read this. I never knew that the tongue had reflexes like the hands and feet. This is fascinating. I have had problems with my tongue ever since we went through the Insidious tx. I have asked my dentist, he says nothing is wrong. I know there is.
Oh well, didn’t mean to go off on a tangent LOL
I am going to try this. I really really appreciate your sharing this wealth of information. You are my hero!!
    Love

    1. Hay girl!

I was surprised to hear that too. I knew about the areas of taste. You know, like bitter, sweet, salty etc. That is the coolest thing! I keep a jar in the bathroom with a spoon now! My gums rarely bleed now and my platelets are about 50. I think it helps!

      Love you hunnyo,
      Karen

  2. Oops! I meant to ask you how is the oil pulling going for you? Have you noticed anything?
    Thanks

  3. Not sure why I have a compromised liver, but toxicity, candida, and cervical lymph cysts are an ongoing issue. I decided to add oil pulling to my repertoire. Interestingly, my sinus began to drain the first couple of minutes. Then the belches. After 20 minutes I spit the oil out and had several deep belches. Can’t help but to believe that these are from my digestive system. Understandably, most travelers in our bodies are microscopic. We know that blood circulates the body in less than a minute. So while I was swishing away, oil was circulating through my system and organs….in effect, cleaning additional bacteria strains. Had I been holding bleach in my mouth, logically I would have felt an I’ll effect as it passed into my bloodstream. I was slightly bloated before pulling and now feel as though a girdle has been zipped slightly securely. I will continue as part of a tri-weekly routine.

New Liver Language 2023: MASH and MAFLD

The global liver community chose new terms or nomenclature for the various types of liver diseases. The new terms are more accurate and also less stigmatizing for the patient. Although it will take time to work them into every area of the medical community, here is a copy for people who have liver disease to start with. There is no more NASH, it will be MASH, NAFLD becomes MASLD, MetALD is a new term, and SLD is the overarching term for steatosis.
