Please understand that I’m not one of those teachers who follows every move and breath in perfect sequence. I’m a certified yoga teacher with continuing education in several areas. But more importantly, I listen to my body, and encourage everyone to do the same.

What to Expect

Anyway, I will keep my floor and regular warrior series that can be modified for anyone. In addition, there is chair yoga, tapping, and I plan on adding a class for specific trouble areas. They’re all on Facebook Yoga and Meditation at Karen R Hoyt.

Hips and Lower Back or Sciatic

We all have sticky spots. I have a few including my lower back, hip, and knees. After 4 years of physical therapy, I’ve learned a lot, and know our body has an innate wisdom, and can heal. In addition, I like to build strong hip flexors, and do stabilizing poses so that walking and sitting are easier to do.

Post Organ Transplant Exercise

There can be muscle weakness, imbalance, and nerve damage after surgery. I’ve studied those muscle groups, and now you can learn how to gain more core strength, after abdominal surgery I learned what to do after my liver transplant. Now I can share it privately with you.

Meditation

Many of us have some level of freaking-out-ness from old, new, or ongoing trauma. Slowing down our mind allows us to reduce stress, and recover more quickly from anxiety or a threatening experience.

After chemo and all that stuff, my body’s reactions changed dramatically. Now, more than ever, I meditate peacefully, mindfully, and prayerfully. Join me. It’s casual, fun, and oh so calming.
