Patient Friends Survivors Stories of Hope
When I first got diagnosed it was just me and my phone. I was researching and made up a fake name in a chat group. I truly thought that I would not make it very long. The sadness and loneliness was like a dark deep cave. I could hear my doctors and friends calling out encouragement. Honestly, most of them felt sorry and were waiting for me to die. Looking for a website with hope led me to find Lucinda Porter RN. She inspired me so much and we became friends.
What I learned was that there is not a single person out there that is alone with their diagnosis. We all have parts of our story in common. In a different time or circumstance, I could be you. We’re both facing life with a sick liver. Being overwhelmed is part of our story.
My hope with posting survivor stories of hope is that you will find the strength that you need to move past this. I’m holding onto the truth that our story can be turned around. If you’re out of hope, read one of these stories and borrow some from another patient friends survivors stories of hope.
